On My Honor

Indeed, on my honor. (y)

The honor of self is suppressed by self.
The self of honor is tarnished by self.
On my honor ----

This honor is masked by the deceit of the world;
This world in which we live.
We say with our mouth and plan in our hearts,
But commitment, we fail to give.

In our minds, we convince ourselves that tomorrow never comes.
It comes when we least expected.
It brings to us the results of the lies we’ve told;
So we’re not respected.

On my honor ----

This honor we redress each and every day.
This pride we destroy hither.
This vow we break, right after we say,
“I promise in my honor”.

Day by day, at the break of dawn
We pledge this to our country.
But when dusk sounds his alarm at us,
We break the promise in a hurry.

On my frigging honor----

Mercy for our heads! (y)
This generation knows not the meaning of honor.
Punishment for our behinds!
We lack the dignity expected of citizens!

So the next time you promise on your honor,
Take the time to check the honor.
For it might not be enough. (y)

On my frigging honor!

ON THE MIC 2

When words dance to unheard tunes on the lines of your sheet, As you breathe life onto them, death suffers defeat. The urge to bring the page to stage stirs. Then the cares of life we share moves from despair into repair. Our efforts are not useless. When we stand before the crowd and allow words to spill from our reserve; we deserve an applause. And still, we seek to preserve - Preserve our names behind the blue and red wires of the microphone. Our images are printed behind every stanza, verse and line. We refuse to be beaten, Every handiwork is fine. We tell our stories from the bottom of our hearts, So there's meaning in every line-it's a replica of our hearts. When we're on the mic, things happen. When we're on the mic, we happen. Revelation Poet ©2016 http://revelationpoet.blogspot.com Like my Facebook page too: Revelation Poet #CWC #PoetryBankGroup

NO CREATIVITY ALLOWED

If you think some people are born creative and you're not one of them, think again. What makes some people more creative than others is that they nurture their creativity. In fact, experts say that creativity is primarily a learned skill . And like any other skill you want to learn, it requires that you put in some hard work and effort. It's not enough to just want to be creative--it takes daily dedication to push yourself into original thoughts and expressive ideas. Too often, though, the biggest thing standing in the way may be your own habits. Here eight of the worst creativity killers. If you recognize them in your life, cut them out now. Slaves of Life by Kwaku Rexford

When the sky bows to kiss our feet, when the sun longs to dry our tears When the wind no longer blows our pain away, And the world finally ignore our fears, When tomorrow decides to show his dark sentiments to us Our pains will be left for us to carry alone And when the dark secrets of the world are exposed Our thoughts will never deny us again, We will be closer to our dreams than we thought, Dancing to the sweet rhythm of the night Because our feets have felt the pulse of this brave land before Because our tongues have tasted love from these old pots before. There is a thin line, a narrow gap that separates us from our freedom, And when we finally defy the odds, we will no longer be slaves of life. We will not only live once, but we will survive ABOUT THE WRITER Graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, 25 years old and ready to live...Very easy to go and yearning to meet fellow comrades who understand life better ...
